We know that purchasing furniture can be a little daunting. The questions that can run through your head - Where was it made? What kind of materials did they use? Is it going to fall apart as soon as I get it home? Well, relax. We've done all the leg work for you.

We carefully research all the manufacturers that build the furniture we sell. Do double-dowled joints mean anything to you? How about eight-way hand tied springs? Recycled steel, water-based finishes, high resiliency foam cushions? These are things we look for in the production of our furniture. Need some help with explanations? No worries. Most of our in-home design consultants have visited at least one of our workshops where the furniture is built. So we really know whose making it, where it's being made and what materials are going into it.

Heart-and-Lollipop Flowers

Show someone you care with this colorful, sweet bouquet of heart flowers!! Attach a heartfelt note to make it even more personal.
1. Use colorful card stock to cut out hearts. Feel free to use a verity of sizes and colors to make it more interesting.
2. Stack hearts; punch a hole 1/4 inch up from bottom. Position petals to form a flower, making sure holes line up. Secure by applying glue around holes; let dry. Write name on a petal. Insert lollipop.
3. Give individually or create an entire lollipop bouquet!!

Heart-Filled Cupcakes

Bake up a sweet treat by placing hearts inside of cupcakes! It's easier than you think...
Simply use any yellow cake mix you like. Then, split your cake batter into 1/3 colored pink, and 2/3 regular yellow cake. Bake your pink batter first and use a cookie cutter to make your hearts shapes once the cake has cooled. Then, just take your hearts and add them back in to the muffin tin and add the yellow cake batter around it.

Bright Overhead Lighting
Nothing ruins the ambience quite like being under a spotlight. Aim to have at least three points of light in any room. A chandelier or pendant will diffuse the overhead light a bit, but when possible, use a floor lamp, table lamp or sconce with everything set to a dimmer so that any amount of wattage can be adjusted. You and everything in the room will look better.

Awkward Furniture Arrangements
Instead of arranging furniture willy-nilly, give each area of the room a purpose. Place a couch and two chairs together for comfortable group conversations, or center two chairs in front of a fireplace for intimate chats. If you have a large room, remember that too many stand-alone objects can make the space look messy. Arrange at least two pieces together, like an end table next to a sofa or a tall floor lamp next to a chair.

Curtains Hung Too Low
Hang curtains close to the ceiling for the illusion of greater ceiling and window height. Width-wise, curtains should just cover the frame to create the look of wider, grander windows. And they should barely touch the floor for a polished look. If you must puddle your curtains, keep it to just a few inches.

Tiny Pieces of Wall Decor
Consider proportions before you hang anything above a mantle, couch or headboard. Aim to fill two-thirds of the wall space with artwork, decorative pieces or a large mirror. In a less-than-spacious room, a mirror is a great choice for the wall because it creates movement and visual depth.

A Rug That’s Too Small
An area rug in a bedroom or living room with wood floors gives a finished look. A smaller room deserves a bigger rug. It’ll actually make the room look larger. As for big rooms, invest in a rug that fits at least half, if not all, of your couch, with a few chairs and a coffee table. You want the rug to look intentional as opposed to a “time-out” mat.
